Rain Nutrition Quick Overview
Rain Nutrition is a new MLM beverage company that launched in 2009. Their products contain some of the highest antioxidant levels in any drink product and are more powerful than any superfood known to man. Their two core products are Rain Soul and Rain Rush. Rain Soul is the flagship product and Rain Rush is an energy drink. The science behind Rain has been around for 20 years but Rain Nutrition is the first to actually formulate a product for human consumption based on this exact science.
Rain Nutrition has chosen the MLM or network marketing vehicle to reach consumers. MLM has become a popular way for many new healthy juices and drinks to market their products. The MLM model involves selling products to your friends and family and then recruiting them as distributors. As new distributors reach out to their contacts they can sponsor them as reps and sell products and a duplication process begins.
Rain Nutrition marketing is flawed as with most MLM’s
Here is the problem. The type of marketing taught in MLM doesn’t work for 96% of the people in the industry. These methods may have worked in the past for a higher percentage of people but in today’s market they have become very ineffective.
Rain Nutrition lays out their marketing plan on their web page. Below is a list of activities they recommend to new sales reps. They call this duplication.
#1 Find your WHY
I actually agree with number one. No matter what business endeavor you choose to do you need to find a motivation deep down inside of you that is going to drive you to become a winner. You will not succeed without this desire and drive.
#2 Go Core
This is Rain’s way of saying be committed to your success. This is another good quality to have when starting a new business. You will not grow a business without commitment.
#3 Make A Contact List
Ok, this is where Rain Nutrition slides into a scenario where people start having difficulties. First of all Rain Nutrition preaches duplication. How can someone who knows a total of 50 people duplicate a person who has over 1,000 business and sales contacts? Obviously the person with 1,000 quality contacts has an advantage over the one with few contacts. Duplication does not exist when it comes to people because everyone is different and everyone knows different kinds of peopl
#4 Expand Your Warm Market
This is where Rain tells you to contact everyone you have ever made contact with. They recommend your church, your community, facebook and other social networks. I can tell you that I get emails everyday from people on facebook telling me to check out their business and guess what? They are all different businesses and they all claim to be the best. This type of training does nothing but create a bunch of noise in the market and yields few results. Your warm list of people you know is not the best list to contact and going on facebook to blast your opportunity out to people doesn’t work either. However, this is a great way to lose a lot of friends.

“Hmmm… Let me see. I think I will call aunt Helen who is 89 years old and talk her into selling my products. Or maybe uncle Fred. He has always liked me and will do it if I ask. I’m sure he won’t get mad if he makes zero dollars and spends a whole months worth of pay on products.”
Am I making sense? The people you should be talking to are people who are self motivated and have a drive to hang in there even when it requires and excruciating amount of work. You might have some firends or family that are perfect for your business but most people only have a few if any.
#5 Invite and Follow Up
This means drag your friends and family to an opportunity meeting where they will get a huge dose of hypnotism and be worked over for a sale. Have you ever experienced one of those timeshare presentations? They lure you in with a free vacation and then try to sell you a $40,000 timeshare. Those guys won’t leave you alone. Would you purposely drag your Grandmother or best friend to one of those? Wrong wrong wrong. That’s the wrong strategy and the wrong people to try to sponsor.
#6 Utilize The Right Tools
Get ready to spend some money! You can buy a company DVD, brochures, flyers, business cards and a replicated website. These are all very ineffective ways to market and the cost is not worth the return. I have never known anyone to make any real money from a replicated website. In fact replicated websites drive more people away than make sales. If you are marketing this online I can promise you people have already seen a website exactly like yours several times. It doesn’t work PERIOD.
#7 Host a Party
Now here’s an idea. Why not host a party? You can buy a bunch of food and set out a bunch of product and invite who? You guessed it! Invite all your friends and family over for a selling party. How many people ever really want to go to these? They know they will feel obligated to buy something. Again this is not an effective way to market and you are taking advantage of your relationships to make a buck.
#8 Attend and Invite
This is where you invite your team and prospects to a large opportunity meeting where guest speakers will teach, train and help you sponsor new reps. These are actually very effective once you have the right people to plug in. The problem is getting the right people there.
The Rain Nutrition marketing system is flawed. They may have great products but as with all MLM and network marking companies they have not developed a system of duplication. A warm list runs out quickly and you are left with no practical way to build you business. What you must understand is this is a “marketing” business. No marketing equals no leads and no leads equals no sales. Without marketing you simply can not build the massive organization you wish to build.
Right before your very eyes there is a revolution taking place. This revolution is called The World Wide Web. The internet is opening doors to people that have never had an opportunity to reach the masses. This juggernaut of information has made it possible for people to literally create fortunes from their home office. Over the past few years some of the brightest minds have been developing ways to grow their MLM businesses online. They have done this without the warm list, without cold calling, without home parties, without flyers and brochures and without telling everyone on facebook to check out their replicated site..
I’m not knocking Rain Nutrition for their marketing strategies because up until now that is all that has been known. However, there is a new and better way and the future is bright with promise for those who take action today.
